Fireworks over the Charles River I, Boston

Posted by Justin Haaheim (New Haven, CT, United States) on 8 July 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

One of a handful of shots to come from a 4th of July weekend trip with Rachel to Boston and then up to Vermont. Shot on a tripod with a jerry-rigged remote, 2 seconds at f/10. We were lucky to have totally randomly run into a couple of Rachel's friends from school who got to the shoreline that morning to save a spot, and who saw us wandering around looking for a place to sit.

Comments always appreciated.

fireworks shots are usually very boring - the photographer amazed that anything showed up at all. this is one of the best i've seen. i really good photo with fireworks in it.

@gbe: Hey thanks, gbe! I'm glad you like it, and I'm glad you stopped by. I haven't had much traffic recently since I've stopped posting regularly, so it's good to get some feedback. Come back in the next couple days to see a few other ones I grabbed from the evening.

Btw, I love the stuff you've got posted on your site -- especially the holga shots, and this one with the sweet curb. I've got a friend that's done some great holga stuff: Joe Lencioni. You should check him out.

Very nice shot, I like how you were able to capture so much of the rest of the scene in the image as well.

Stunning shot. I think the inherently limited color pallet really enhances the whole scene.
