Flower, Night BloomPosted by Justin Haaheim (New Haven, CT, United States) on 25 March 2007 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. A plant at my friends house that remains flowerless for all but one night of the year. During that one night, supposedly, a single flower blooms and remains open until the morning, when it closes and dies. My friend and I only caught this one night when it blooms because he noticed the perfume the flower lets off just before he headed to bed.

Can anyone tell me its name and what are the best conditions for this plant to prolificate . I am simply mad about this fragrant flower. 10 May 2009 5:12am Tammy from United StatesDatura innoxia. Blooms range from 2 inches to 7 inches wide depending on the exact species you have. HIGHLY TOXIC. Can kill a child and used to be used in South Pacific to make husbands sick when wife's didn't want sex. NO lie absolutely true. Stronger if you wanted them totally dead. 12 Aug 2009 1:22am |
